THE NATURAL SULPHUR SPRINGS
The sulphur springs that flow at the foot of Mount Kronio were known and appreciated since the times of the ancient Greeks. It was the Greeks who gave Sciacca its ancient name: Thermai Selinuntiai – the thermal baths of Selinunte. The Romans, great lovers of thermal culture, also took advantage of the sulphur waters for their therapeutic properties and established in Sciacca the postal center that served the entire island of Sicily.
We will follow a trail that leads us to the Molinelli waters, then continue to the old Terme Selinuntine, following the Bagni stream up to the sulphur spring source.
