Traveling to suggestive landscapes of Sicily!
Everyone loves Sicily for its warm temperatures, delicious food, its folk traditions and its suggestive landscapes. Who can’t fall in love with a sunset on the sea? It’s easy that, but here, you’ll find a place so beautiful that you don’t need a frame or a special background, because we’re talking about the “Scala dei Turchi“: one of the most famous place in the province of Agrigento.
This rocky wall rises in the province of Agrigento, along the coast between Porto Empedocle and Realmonte. Thanks to its white land and its particular shapes, Scala dei Turchi became one of the most popular tourist attractions. The author Andrea Camilleri made this enchanted land even more famous thanks to his books about the Italy’s most famous Commissioner: “Il Commissario Montalbano“.
Well, we are here to go together in this little paradise with crystalline waters, to be achieved preferably in the early hours of the morning.
Starting from Sciacca (about 8.00/8.30) you can follow the SS115 road (following the signs to Agrigento) and in less than an hour you’ll reach the white land, with a great parking! To avoid mistakes here the link about this journey: Sicilian Landscapes.
Once arrived, the sea breeze surrounds every heart that has come in this beautiful landscape while the land turns into a sort of cream once in contact with water.
After the enjoy of the Sicilian sea breeze and one of the most suggestive place in the world, you’ll hungry, so why not a lunch in the heart of the city of Agrigento? The BfB Residence San Marco recommend another escale, a very nice restaurant in Via Atenea, 72: “La Scala“.
If you taste a fish menu or a meat menu, doesn’t matter: we’re sure: it will be worth it! 😉

So, let’s the tour now! In less then 15 min from the restaurant of Agrigento, you can reach this enchanted landscape: the Valle dei Templi. Find a parking is so easy (and to payment).
The view is breathtaking and the Temples are a perfect mix with the Sicilian nature. The San Leone sea into the background is a wonderful frame to this splendid landscape.
If your camera allows you to tke other pictures, after the Temple of Era and the Temple of Concord, you will find the Villa Aurea, or better: the home of Alexander Hardcastle. It was built in ‘800 inside the Archaeological Park and it was the house of Alexander Hardcastle in the ’20s, that was the first guardian of the Park.
